Gold Duke of Edinburgh Ceremony

Last month, ten students who left Wilmslow High in the summer attended their Gold DofE award presentation ceremony at St James’s Palace in London. Dr Pullé and Mrs Farris were also invited to attend, and were both extremely proud to see so many students receive their certificates from the Earl of Wessex. It’s the culmination of years of volunteering, improving an aspect of their physical ability, improving a skill and, of course, taking part in a four-day, three night expedition in wild country. We’re also pleased that so many of our ‘gold’ students return to help out with bronze expeditions, passing on their wealth of experience to younger students. There are currently 150 students in Year 9 working towards their bronze award, 60 students in Year 11 working towards their silver award and 34 students in Year 12 working towards their gold award. It would be great to see some of them at the Palace in the next few years!
