'Education, education, education' may be an old mantra but we believe it is no less important now than it was back in 1997! We are passionate about ensuring all students benefit from their education, in its widest sense, at Wilmslow High.

We aim to provide opportunities to enable all students to learn in a caring supportive environment. In becoming successful learners we want all our students to develop a love of learning, to recognise that learning is a lifelong activity and that the skills they acquire and develop are transferrable.

Success is not just measured in terms of examination results: we would expect all our students to develop their talents and achieve in a myriad of ways throughout their school life. This means that they will develop confidence and self esteem in gaining success be it through taking part in a Bar Mock Trial competition or the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme, through playing for the rugby or tennis team or taking part in the school production to name just a few of the learning opportunities beyond the classroom.

Our aim is also to enable our young people to become responsible and caring citizens who can contribute to school and the wider, indeed, global community. Our school community is based on standards, expectations and the values and attitudes of mutual respect and that all people are of equal worth. This is no more evident than in our sports specialism. During our Ofsted Inspection in April 2011, in which we were overwhelmingly judged 'outstanding' the inspectors said "students have many opportunities for success and to develop their special talents through an outstanding curriculum to which the school's sports specialism makes an exceptional contribution." That statement also encapsulates the offer we have for students in school and how important our positive culture and ethos around school is in enabling our young people to achieve.

Our learning community is inclusive, supportive and inspiring in helping young people prepare for their learning journey ahead equipping them with the skills, knowledge and understanding they will need to be the successful, confident and responsible members in the community and society as a whole.

We hope you enjoy the website, can find out what you want and gain a more detailed insight into what Wilmslow High School is all about.
