PLEASE NOTE: The “Post-Results Services Request & Candidate Consent Form” MUST be completed for all Enquiries about Results (EAR) and Access to Scripts (ATS) and payment made before applications will be processed. Charges, for all the services listed below, can be found on the reverse of the relevant form.

Both GCE and GCSE forms may be obtained from the examinations office or downloaded from the foot of this page. (Please ensure you select the correct form, GCE or GCSE)

Enquiries About Results (EAR) Access To Scripts (ATS)

An outline of the services available to candidates, following the publication of examination results, is given below. Further information can be obtained by contacting the Examinations Officer.

PLEASE NOTE THESE SERVICES ARE GOVERNED BY STRICT JCQ DEADLINES

NO ‘EARs’ or ‘ATS’ CAN BE MADE AFTER THE PUBLISHED DEADLINE

Service 1: Clerical Re-check

A re-check of all clerical procedures, with access to scripts. This service does not review the marking of a script, but will include the following checks:

• that all parts of the script have been marked;

• the totalling of marks;

• the recording of marks;

• the application of any adjustments;

• the application of grade thresholds;

if requested, a copy of the re-checked script(s) for those units/components included in the Access to Scripts service.

Priority Service 2p: Review of Marking (GCE Only)

This is an urgent application for a review of marking that will be looked at immediately. This service may only be used if your place at University depends on the result in question. For details of what the Review of marking service entails see Service 2 below.

Priority Service 2p: Review of Marking (GCSE)

Edexcel now provide an urgent application, review of marking service, for GCSE papers also. This service may only be used if your place at higher/further education is dependent on the result in question. For details of what the Review of marking service entails see Service 2 option below.

 Service 2: Review of marking

This is a post-results review of the original marking, carried out by a senior examiner, to ensure that the agreed mark scheme has been applied correctly. The service is available for externally assessed components of both unitised and linear specifications.

 This service will include:

• the clerical re-checks detailed in Service 1;

• a review of marking as described above;

if requested, a copy of the reviewed script(s) for those units/components included as part of the Access to Scripts service.

 Candidates must understand that if a script is re-marked the final subject grade may be lower than, higher than or the same as the grade that was originally awarded for this subject. If following a review the final mark is lower, it is the lower mark that will stand.

Requesting PHOTOCOPIED Scripts

This service is usually only available  for GCE examinations, however Edexcel are now providing a priority photocopy service for GCSE examinations also.

Requesting ORIGINAL Scripts

This service should not be used when deciding whether or not to apply for a review of marking.

Application and payment must be made to the Exams Office no later than:

 NB: Original scripts will arrive no later than Friday 31st March 2017
