The School Council is made up of 20 students elected from Years 7-11 with a member from all four Houses in each year. They represent the voice of every student and meet after school at least once every half-term. The Council is led by the Head Boy and Head Girl and their Deputies. Mr Maw, the Head of Norcliffe House, represents the staff. After the meetings the Head Boy and Girl report back to Dr Pullé, the Acting Head teacher.
The School Council was set up five years ago and since then it has organised charity events raising over £8000.00 for good causes and discussed many issues including; lunchtime arrangements; rewards and sanctions; school uniform; improved facilities; homework and sport to name just a few.
Aims of the School Council
A School Council is a group of students who are elected to act as the official voice of all the students. The council discusses and decides on things that matter to the students and are important for the whole school.
