Message to parents and carers from the Chair of Governors – Mr J Caulkett

Dear parents and carers

In June I wrote to you announcing the retirement of Dr Pullé at the end of the autumn term and sharing with you the Governors’ commitment to maintaining the exceptionally high standards of leadership at Wilmslow High School to which we have become accustomed.

I am therefore delighted to announce that Ms Powley has accepted the position of interim headteacher of the school from January 2023.

Ms Powley joined us as Deputy Headteacher in 2015 and has played a key role in promoting the pursuit of excellence for every student every day to which we aspire as a school community.

She will continue to work very closely with Dr Pullé over the next 3 months to ensure a smooth transition and will be well supported by our very able, experienced and committed school leadership team.  Ms Powley will be writing to you herself in this week’s High Notes and speaking to students in assemblies over the next few days.

Please join me and the governing body in congratulating Ms Powley on her new role.  We are very much looking forward to working with her, the staff, and indeed all members of the Wilmslow High School wider community as we move forward together into 2023.

I also want to take this opportunity on behalf of the Governing Board to thank Dr Pullé for all his support and dedication to the school over the years and wish him all the best in his coming retirement.

Kind regards

Jim Caulkett (Chair of Governors)

On behalf of the Wilmslow High School Governing Board
