Q&As on the government’s new approach to Covid-19 risk mitigation

On Monday 19th July the government’s new approach to Covid-19 risk mitigation comes into force.

The following Q&As outline the implications of this for the Wilmslow High School community over the last three days of the school year.

We believe that this package of measures is necessary to reduce the risk of summer holidays being affected by the Covid regulations in relation to self-isolation.

If you have any queries please email CovidStudents@wilmslowhigh.com

When will children who are close contacts of individuals testing positive for Covid-19 stop being required to self-isolate for 10 days?

The requirement for children identified as close contacts to self-isolate for 10 days will continue until the 16th August.

This has important implications for the rest of the school year.

Even when Step 4 on the government’s roadmap is taken nationally on 19th July, children in schools could still find themselves instructed by NHS Test and Trace to self-isolate.

Should families keep their child at home if they appear unwell?

Yes

Children have tested positive with both traditional Covid symptoms and when displaying other signs of being unwell.
