Relationships, Sex and Health Education

We want all of our young people to grow up healthy, happy, safe, and able to manage the challenges and opportunities of modern Britain. This has led the government to review and develop the curriculum expectations that have to be followed by all schools in Relationships, Sex and Health Education. This area of the curriculum is designed to equip your child with the knowledge and understanding to make informed decisions about their wellbeing, health and relationships as well as preparing them for a successful adult life. Here is a link to a parent guide from the Department for Education:

As a school, we are required to consult with you when developing and renewing our policy and curriculum plan on Relationships, Sex and Health Education. We had planned to do this during this summer term 2020, but because of the disruption caused by Covid-19, we will now undertake this process during the autumn term. Consequently, we will not be teaching any aspects of the renewed Relationships, Sex and Health Education curriculum until after January 2021; more information to follow in September. The member of the Extended Leadership Team responsible for this area is Mr N Hughes
