Additional information

Up to one third of people who have coronavirus are asymptomatic. By testing we will help to reduce the spread in our school, through asymptomatic transmission. I am therefore strongly encouraging those returning to school to be tested.

I still need to provide Consent for the Covid 19 test

The consent form can be accessed on the school website or by clicking here.

What if my child tests positive?

Parents/carers will be informed immediately if their child has tested positive.

If a student tests positive on a lateral flow device, parents/carers will be informed immediately by Wilmslow High school and will need to isolate for 10 days.

What happens if the test is negative?

You will only be informed by school of a test result if it is positive or void. Your child will return home with the test card to enable you to log the result with the NHS. We maintain a full register of all results in school should you require confirmation.

While a small number of students may need to repeat the test if the first test was invalid or void for some reason, students who test negative will be able to return to school with their year group.

What if my child develops symptoms?

This testing programme at Wilmslow High School is for people with no symptoms. If your child develops symptoms at any time (including a high temperature; a new, continuous cough; or a loss or change to their sense of smell or taste) they must immediately self-isolate, and book a test by calling 119 or visiting

We look forward to welcoming all Year 8 students back.

Kind regards
