The Year 10 girls travelled to Eaton Bank for the first round of the ESFA Cup, where they came up against a strong Eaton Bank side.
The hosts started brightly and took an early lead, leaving Wilmslow chasing the game from the opening stages. As the girls pushed forward and pressed in search of a way back into the match, spaces began to open up, which Eaton Bank were able to exploit and brought the ESFA Cup campaign to an early end.
Despite the result, all of the girls performed brilliantly and maintained a fantastic level of intensity and effort right until the final whistle. There were plenty of promising signs to take from the performance as they turn their attention to the upcoming regional competitions.
Emma Ecroyd was voted Player of the Match after producing some outstanding acrobatic saves throughout the game. Special mentions also go to Emma Chambers and Amelia Lively, who both looked extremely comfortable despite stepping up to play a year above their age group.
