U16 Rugby Boys Battle Hard at Wirral Grammar
Wilmslow’s U16 rugby team showed determination in a Cheshire Cup defeat away at Wirral Grammar.
After conceding an early try, Wilmslow responded strongly and enjoyed a sustained spell of pressure. The hosts’ defence held firm, however, and late breakaway tries left Wilmslow 21–0 behind at half-time.
The boys continued to compete after the break, with last-ditch tackles preventing them from converting promising attacks into points. Wirral added further tries towards the end, but Wilmslow’s effort and commitment remained strong throughout.
Josh Garside was named Player of the Match. The team will look to build on that effort in their next fixture against The Grange.
