Year 7 Admissions
Wilmslow High School is a Community School, and our admissions are managed by Cheshire East Council. To view full details of the local authority’s admissions policy, please click here.
Each year, we admit up to 300 students into Year 7.
How Applications Are Prioritised
When the school is oversubscribed, applications are prioritised using the following criteria:
-
Children in care or previously in care
-
Siblings of current students
-
Children living within the school’s designated catchment area
-
Children attending a partner (feeder) primary school
-
Children living nearest to the school (straight-line distance)
If places are limited within one criterion, priority is given to those who also meet the next highest criterion and live closest to the school.
A random tie-breaker may be used if distances are identical (for example, applicants from the same apartment block).
