We expect all students to attend school smartly dressed in full uniform every day. Uniform should be worn correctly on the journey to and from school as well as throughout the school day. We are proud of how our students present themselves and of the positive impression they make in the local community, and we ask parents and carers to support this by ensuring that students come to school in the correct uniform and with appropriate footwear.
Branded uniform items and PE kit are supplied by Express Uniform from September 2026. Only some items must be purchased from Express Uniform. For school uniform, the compulsory branded items are the blazer, tie and kilt-style skirt. For PE kit, the only compulsory branded item is the PE polo shirt. Plain black PE lower-body items do not need to be branded and may be purchased from Express Uniform or another retailer, provided they meet the school’s expectations.
Express Uniform is Wilmslow High School’s official supplier for branded uniform items and PE kit from September 2026.
Families may choose to buy all items from Express Uniform, but only some items must be purchased there. To help keep costs as reasonable as possible, a number of non-branded uniform and PE kit items may be bought from other retailers, provided they meet the school’s expectations for colour, style, quality and fit. This approach reflects current guidance from the [Department for Education], which emphasises affordability and limiting compulsory branded items wherever possible.
Families who prefer the convenience of purchasing everything in one place may buy all required uniform and PE kit items directly from Express Uniform. Orders are placed through the Express Uniform website and delivered to your home address.

Shoes must be plain black, sensible and suitable for school. Trainer-style shoes, casual fashion trainers, and footwear with large logos, coloured soles or obvious sports branding are not permitted. Examples such as Nike Air Force 1, Adidas Grand Court 2, or similar trainer-style footwear are not acceptable as school shoes. If you are unsure whether a particular style is suitable, please check before purchasing.

Jewellery is not permitted, with the exception of a watch and one small plain gold or silver stud earring in each ear lobe. Students should not wear facial or body piercings, large or decorative earrings, make-up, false nails or nail polish. Hairstyles should be appropriate for school; extreme styles are not permitted. The final decision on whether an item of dress or appearance is acceptable rests with the school.
Students may wear two small simple gold or silver stud earrings, one in each ear lobe.
Jewellery must not be worn in PE lessons or during sporting activities for health and safety reasons. This includes earrings and other body piercings.
Students who wear earrings on PE days must be able to remove them themselves. Staff are unable to assist with this. Sport-safe plastic retainers may be worn only during the interim period following a new piercing.
Our Pre-loved Uniform Shop offers a lower-cost option for families. It is open from 1.30pm to 3.00pm on alternate Wednesdays during term time, with dates published in High Notes each week.

PE kit is purchased through Express Uniform. As Express Uniform has now taken over the PE contract, PE kit is no longer sold through our Printworks shop. To make expectations as clear as possible for families, the information below is split into compulsory items and optional items.
Students joining Year 7 in September 2026 should purchase the new PE kit from Express Uniform. Current students may continue to wear the existing PE kit until replacement items are needed.
Discounted Surridge PE kit for current students in Years 7 to 10 will be available until the end of August. Orders should be placed using the online form, and items can then be collected from Reception three days after the order is placed.

Lower-body items – important guidance
Students must have at least one of the following: plain black shorts, plain black skort or plain black sports leggings. These items do not need to be branded and may be purchased from Express Uniform or another retailer. However, they must be plain black, without logos or patterns, made from suitable sportswear material rather than fashion wear, and of an appropriate fit and length for school PE lessons. Branded versions of these items sold by Express Uniform are optional only.
The following items are available from Express Uniform but are not compulsory: branded games top, branded sweatshirt and branded performance / ¾ zip top. These items are recommended for students who regularly take part in outdoor PE lessons and extracurricular sport, along with football boots, but they are not essential for all students.
