Behaviour + Sanctions

Expectations

At Wilmslow High School we have high standards for the behaviour that we expect in our classrooms, around the school site and in our school’s community.

We have clear rules and procedures to ensure a calm and focused environment that we will explain to our Year 7 students as part of their Induction process.

We reinforce these regularly in form time and assemblies.

We are proud of the strong relationships and positive learning environment that we build with our students.

We do have a range of sanctions that we use to ensure safe, respectful and co-operative behaviour and we ask for the support from our parents and carers in this. Please be reassured that, if we have a concern about your child’s behaviour, we will be in touch with you.

Our school values

At the centre of our Wilmslow Way are the PRIDE character values of:

  • Professionalism – in our standards of dress, preparation for learning and behaviour around the site
  • Respect – for our school environment, for each other, and for our community
  • Integrity – doing the right thing because it’s the right thing
  • Determination – to do our best – even when this is difficult
  • Empathy – showing understanding and care towards others

Mobile phones

At Wilmslow High School we also believe that the ‘right’ relationship with social media and mobile phones supports wellbeing, and concentration, we therefore do not allow mobile phones between 8.35am and 3.05pm. Students can check their phones in afternoon registration to pick up messages, and you can make contact with your child during the school day if you need to.
