First XI take lessons from opening friendly

Wilmslow High’s 1st XI opened their season with a 4–0 friendly defeat against Altrincham Grammar School.

Altrincham led 2–0 at half-time, but Wilmslow responded with much greater intensity after the break and created chances to get back into the game. Altrincham added two further goals, though the improved second-half display offered positives to build on.

Year 11 students Charlie Taylor, Buddy Dawson and Matthew Peacock all made their 1st XI debuts. Charlie was named Player of the Match. The squad will look to build on that second-half performance ahead of its ESFA campaign against Cardinal Langley.
