More than 75 Wilmslow High School boys travelled to Lymm for a competitive rugby block fixture against longstanding rivals, with wins for our U13 and U15 teams and valuable experience across all four age groups.
U12: Positive Response After a Tough Start
The U12 boys faced a challenging first half as they struggled to contain Lymm’s powerful runners, but remained positive throughout.
A more structured performance after the break helped Wilmslow score several tries of their own. Although the match ended in defeat, the boys gained valuable experience and developed their understanding of the game.
U13: Free-Flowing Rugby Secures Convincing Win
On the adjacent pitch, the U13s produced an outstanding attacking performance. Free-flowing rugby from the backs, combined with direct running from the forwards, helped Wilmslow secure a resounding victory against good opposition.
A convincing away win at Lymm is an achievement to savour — well done to the whole team.
U14: Lessons to Take into Cup Fixture
The U14s faced a very strong Lymm side in a difficult afternoon. Despite showing moments of creativity in attack, the boys were unable to break through an organised home defence and finished without a try.
The team will look to regroup ahead of their School Sports Magazine Cup fixture against Sandbach next Thursday.
U15: Depleted Squad Delivers Impressive Victory
Despite missing four regular starters, the U15s rose to the challenge against a powerful and determined Lymm side.
The boys matched the physical contest throughout, using the pace of Tom Brown and Archie Long to excellent effect. A thoroughly entertaining encounter ended in a comfortable Wilmslow victory.
Well done to everyone who represented WHS across the four fixtures.
