Year 7 Start of Year Information – a reminder
This is a reminder of the information sent in July:
We are very much looking forward to welcoming you to Wilmslow High School in September. I would like to take this opportunity to share some important information regarding the start of the new academic year.
Start of Term – September 2025
- Monday 1 and Tuesday 2 September – INSET Days (Staff only – no students in school)
- Wednesday 3 September – Students return to school
Arrival times for Wednesday 3 September:
To help ensure a smooth and supportive transition, especially for our new students, we will be implementing a staggered start for year groups on the first day of the school year.
- Year 7 – arrive between 8.15am and 8.45am and make their way to the Olympic Hall as they did on the transition days.
- There will be no practical PE lessons on Wednesday 3 September, therefore students will not be expected to bring their PE Kit to school on this day.
Uniform Expectations
All students are expected to return to school in full, correct uniform, in line with our school policy. You can review the uniform guidelines on our website: www.wilmslowhigh.com/uniform
We will have a strong focus on students wearing their uniform correctly, for example shirts tucked in and skirts worn so that all four buttons are visible. Branded trainer styles, such as Nike Air Force 1 or Adidas Grand Court 2 (or similar) are not allowed. Jewellery is not permitted, with the exception of watches and stud earrings. Students can wear two small, plain gold or silver stud earrings, one in each ear lobe.
Thank you for your support in helping us maintain high standards of dress and presentation across the school.
We look forward to welcoming our Year 7 students for an exciting and successful year.
With warm regards,
Christina Kane
