Years 7–13 · 2026–27

Our careers programme

Careers learning is woven through students’ time at Wilmslow High School. The outline below shows the planned Personal Development careers sessions for 2026–27; it sits alongside subject learning, tutor activities, assemblies, employer encounters, events and work experience.

Every student’s programme develops over time. Key Stage 3 builds awareness of personal strengths and possible routes; Key Stage 4 supports decisions about post-16 education and training; Key Stage 5 helps students prepare for post-18 destinations and beyond. Students can also access independent careers guidance from Year 7 onwards.

How the programme develops

Key Stage 3

Students explore their strengths and skills, learn about the world of work and discover post-16 and post-18 routes as they begin to make GCSE choices.

Key Stage 4

Students research education and training options and prepare for decisions about their post-16 destination, supported by encounters with employers and providers.

Key Stage 5

Students plan for their next step after Year 13, including university, apprenticeships, employment and other routes.
